The company
Headquartered in London, with its UK development team based in our Manchester office and Glasgow, Cubico Sustainable Investments is one of the world’s largest privately-owned renewable energy companies and has a growing footprint in the UK where it owns and operates more than 250 MW of onshore wind and solar assets, plus 47.5 MW of BESS under construction and a development pipeline of circa 2 GW.
With plans to invest approximately £300 million in new projects across a range of green technologies, Cubico is committed to helping deliver reliable, homegrown and affordable energy for British homes and businesses. The company takes a long-term approach to partnerships with stakeholders, working closely with local communities to deliver projects that bring both economic and environmental benefits and create lasting value for the people who live and work near its projects.
Cubico’s global portfolio spans nine countries and four continents with a installed gross capacity of more than 3 GW, 450 MW in construction and a 17+ GW total development pipeline.

The team

James Pinney
Head of Northern Europe, Cubico
James became Head of Northern Europe after more than 6 years at Cubico, most recently as the Head of Investment Oversight where he worked closely with all regional teams, the Executive Committee and the company’s shareholders on the evaluation, approval and execution of transactions. This encompassed deals across 15 countries in a variety of technologies including solar, wind, CSP and transmission.
Prior to joining Cubico, James worked in EY’s Energy Corporate Finance team, focused on M&A advisory services in the renewables sector.James is a CFA Charterholder and has a BSc in Geography from the University of Bristol.

Neil Uttridge
Vice President,
Cubico
Neil joined Cubico in 2016 and is a Vice President in the EMEA investment team. His role includes the origination, execution, and financing of investments in onshore wind, solar PV and concentrated solar power.
Prior to joining Cubico, Neil worked in PwC’s Infrastructure Finance team, with a focus on renewable energy. Neil holds a degree in Economics from the University of Nottingham and is a CFA charter holder.

Jamie McIntyre
Senior Finance Manager, Cubico
Jamie joined Cubico in 2019 as Senior Finance Manager. He is responsible for leading the finance function across Cubico’s Northern Europe portfolio, including internal and external reporting, financial due diligence, commercial finance optimisation and valuations.
Prior to joining Cubico, Jamie completed a training contract on PwC’s graduate scheme in the Banking & Capital Markets division, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant. He later joined The Ingenious Group’s clean energy team, working on several funds acquiring and managing operational solar PV and onshore wind projects, as well as a joint venture developing and refinancing projects across the UK.
Jamie holds an Honours master’s degree in Biochemistry and Biological Chemistry from Nottingham University and is a Chartered Accountant (ACA, ICAEW).

Rob Tate
Development Director, Peel NRE
Rob delivers 21 years’ experience in identifying, evaluating and developing complex and diverse grid-scale and decentralised renewable energy projects/new business opportunities through the planning and development process, including onshore and offshore wind, solar PV and battery storage.

Joe Chambers
Associate Director, Renewables. Peel NRE
Joe Chambers has over 10 years’ experience in renewable energy across consultancy and development roles as well as a master’s degree in the subject. He has detailed knowledge of decentralised and flexible generation project development, due diligence requirements and route to market.

Jeevan Singh Saini
Assistant Renewables Development Manager, Peel NRE
Jeevan is responsible for feasibility assessments and technical analysis of new on-shore wind and solar developments across the UK with duties including site origination, layout design and energy yield analysis, utilising a wide array of industry-standard software and tools.
